Week 5 was a weird week. Most of the chalk hit which is fine because I tend to lean more on the chalk than not on the chalk. However, what I mean by weird is that I didn't have a chance to really dig in and research Sunday morning before lineup lock. I was traveling to Buffalo for the Bills/Steelers game and almost the entire way there I had no service. I figured once we get into the stadium, I can try to get everything all set. I thought wrong. The service INSIDE the stadium sucked too! I actually liked my lineup Saturday night and didn't need to change much. But, I hated not doing my usual Sunday routine. This week, I decided to roll with a Brady stack.
For Week 5, I played on DraftKings. Let's dive in.
Contest: NFL $100K Stiff Arm (Single Entry)
Buy-In: $555
1st Place Payout: $15,000
Min-Cash: $1,000
Result: 97th Place.

QB: Tom Brady. I love Thomas Edward Patrick Brady Jr. I feel like the people that make it personal and genuinely hate him are people that have serious psychological issues. Oh, the man beat your favorite team for 20+ years? Well, I have 2 words for you then...get better. This week, against the Falcons, who are straight dog water, I figured a Brady stack and bring back would be a good choice. The TB offense is a pass first offense even though they have Uncle Lenny running the ball. Last year, Brady destroyed Atlanta when they played so I was hoping for more of the same. Brady finished with 351 yards passing but only 1 TD. He was good for 22.74 DK points which could have been better but it also could have been a lot worse.
RB1: Derrick Henry. The Big Dog. This is also a player that I genuinely just love to watch play football. This passing game in Tennessee sucks. We know that Henry is going to get his carries and when he does, he usually makes some noise. He's also been involved in some of the passing game as well, which is a fantasy owners dream! Going against Washington, I felt like this was a must play as Washington is trash and Henry....well...isn't. The Big Dog ended with 102 yards rushing and 2 TD's along with 2 catches for 30 yards for 30.20 DK points. Had I cashed this week, Henry was my highest scoring player, but unfortunately, no Henry jersey for Zag just yet.
RB2: Alvin Kamara. So far on the season, Kamara hasn't done much. When Drew Brees was the QB, Kamara was catching like 8-10 balls a game and also had big touchdown upside. Since Brees retired and Winston is hurt, Kamara has God knows who throwing the ball. Not to mention, the Saints just suck. However, in this spot against Seattle, I assumed it would be a shootout, which it was. Kamara ended with 103 rushing yards and 91 receiving yards. This is exactly what we want from a guy like this. No touchdown's though hurt but still those numbers got 27.40 DK points. A TD would have been huge and put him over the 30 burger mark.
WR1: Mike Evans. It's hard to cover Mike Evans. Not many CB's succeed. When stacking Brady, you basically choose from 2 of the following 3 players: Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, and Uncle Lenny. Even though Lenny was in a great spot this week, I chose to roll with Evans and Godwin because I was hoping for a 40 point game from TB and if they scored 40, it's likely that Evans and Godwin did some damage along with Brady. However, I chose wrong as Lenny was the play. Evans caught 4 balls for 81 yards and 12.10 DK points. Not what we are looking for out of this great spot from Evans.
WR2: Chris Godwin. See above for the reasons I drafted Godwin. In a TB stack where Evans will likely be covered, Godwin should have seen more targets than he did. However, he didn't play much in this game. Not sure if it was injury related or just because they were up 21-0 and didn't really need to keep their foot on the gas. Godwin is the quicker of the WR's between him and Evans but he is a big time favorite of Brady's. I don't hate the play but only 6 catches for 61 yards and 12.30 DK points didn't cut it.
WR3: Drake London. The rookie was my 2nd lowest scoring player this week. When we got the news that Kyle Pitts wasn't going to play, the first thing that came to my mind was "who the hell does Atlanta have to even throw the ball to?" I thought this would be a great bring back from the TB stack as Drake was getting a lot of targets prior to this game. However, in the grand scheme of things, Atlanta just sucks. London ended with only 4 catches and only 35 yards. This was a big miss.
TE: Tyler Higbee. We all know that Cooper Kupp is Matt Stafford's favorite target. However, the #2 guy in LA seems to be Higbee. He's been getting a decent amount of targets and sooner or later will score a TD. 7 catches for 46 yards and 11.60 DK points isn't terrible and we will take that from a tight end every week. It would be nice if they spread out some of the targets away from Kupp, but then again, why would you?
FLEX: Marquez Callaway. Worst play of the week. This dude screwed me over last year if I can remember correctly as well. With literally the Saints #1 and #2 WR's ruled out, I assumed Callaway would be in for a decent game especially since I felt like this game was going to shootout. It did shoot out, but this asshole only caught 2 balls for 5 yards for 2.5 DK points. I could have gotten more points than this ball of dust. Side note: on the way to Buffalo, I saw that McKenzie from Buffalo was going to be out and Shakir was in a decent spot (the Bills #3 WR). I should have played him as the salary was the same and Shakir scored a TD as the Steelers defense is swiss cheese.
DEFENSE: Dallas Cowboys. Again, each week I just try to find a relatively cheap defense with the hope of them getting sacks, INT's, and maybe a TD. You can't predict defensive stats but this weeks defense was great for me. The Rams offensive line is banged up and not good. Dallas somehow has been winning games as well without Dak (Hell, maybe Rush > Dak). Dallas ended up with 5 sacks, 2 defensive fumble recoveries, 1 INT, AND a defensive TD. 23 DK points from a defense is FIRE!
Results: 97th place out of 200 for $0.
Well, we finished about half way through the pack. Brady and the RB's did very well but we didn't get enough production from the WR's this week. I finished the week with 149.34 points. A min-cash needed 165.96. We weren't too far out of the money again this week but if I would have went with Shakir instead of Callaway, we would have gotten there. It's crazy how sometimes it comes down to 1 player.

Good piece of journalism, Hal Pfuftig. (Except for "would have WENT with".... which you know chews at my butt.) The babes and I finished below you, but we don't care. We don't bet any money....we just choose our stack and figure out our score. Stormy was saying all day the she would bet me a hummer vs. $1,000 that Hal Pfuftig would have his boyfriend as the quarterback on his team. I agreed with her, so of course stayed away from that bet. Hey - you're having a good season. We hope you win $10,000 this week.
Tom Brady isn’t going to marry you. Otherwise love the write up. So tilting for Kamara to have the game we we’re looking for but Hill steal all the TDs
