Sometimes things happen that just bring your life to a halt. This Monday night, we saw that happen in the world of football with Bills safety Damar Hamlin collapsing on the field in the first quarter of the Bills/Bengals game. As I write this Thursday night, Hamlin has been improving each day (all things considered) and even opened his eyes and was able to communicate and asked who won the game. The game obviously was cancelled. Just something we've never seen before in an NFL game, especially one that was on primetime where the world was watching. Glad to hear Hamlin is slowly progressing and I pray he continues to improve. One of the fantasy leagues I'm in, the two teams in the championship game decided to donate part of the league winnings to Hamlin's toy drive charity, which has taken off since Monday night. Let's get into my picks:

Texans +4

Jets -1.5

49ers -9.5

Packers -3.5

Bengals +1

Texans +4

Awful pick. When I take the Texans, they're the worst team in the league. When I don't take the Texans, they're nearly beating the Cowboys and Chiefs as double digit underdogs. Fun. I should have known because the Texans seemed to be America's favorite dog of the week and that's never a profitable sign.

Jets -1.5

I thought with Mike White being back running the team, the Jets would give the Seahawks a fight. Good Lord, it looks like this team packed it in. Their offense managed a whole six points off Seattle in what was a loser from the start. The Steelers need this team to win next week to have a shot at the playoffs. Good luck, this team looked like they quit.

49ers -9.5

Here's another wild one that made no sense to me. The Vegas Raiders, eliminated from the playoffs, decide to bench Carr and put in former Patriots reject Jarrett Stidham. Against the Niners defense. Stidham goes off and scores 34 points against the Niners and nearly beat them in overtime! What the hell is that!? Craziness is what it is...I never saw that one coming. Jarrett Stidham...unreal LOL.

Packers -3.5

It's kind of amazing that you can have such a slam dunk good pick in a week along with three awful ones, but the Packers were money this week. Packers were up 27-3 at the half and cruised against those POS Vikings. I have a future bet on the Vikings to win the Super Bowl. They won their division and will host a playoff game at least, but I still feel like that bet is dead. The Vikings are so bad right now. Easy money here.

Bengals +1

I had the Bengals in MNF and since the NFL has made the announcement that the game will not be made up and is a no contest, Circa is playing it like it was a tie or a push so I'll get a half point for this game. This counts as my 5th tie of the year which 5 half points is like another 2.5 wins.

I'm struggling to close out the season, going 2-7-1 over the past two weeks. No bueno. It doesn't matter at this point because like I said last week, I won't be cashing, but I'd rather show an above .500 record for the year. Maybe Week 18 will be my second undefeated week that I've been looking for lol. One more week to go!
