Week 14 was the start of the final quarter in the Circa Million, and I had one of my typical 3-2 weeks again. I had one team penciled in early in the week and ended up going with their opponent out of nowhere and of course the other team won and covered LOL. We'll get into it. Here were my picks for Week 14:

Rams +6.5

Vikings +2.5

Bills -9.5

Ravens +2.5

49ers -3.5

Rams +6.5

Only 97 were on the Rams Thursday night and I was one of them. Typically, there's like at least 700 people on every team. Thursday night games don't get played very often because you have to lock in all five of your picks on Thursday, but I had missed some other winners I had liked on TNF because I didn't want to lock in all 5 early in the week, but figured screw it here. Everyone left the Rams for dead with the losses of Stafford, Kupp and Donald. No one was going to take them in this spot and that's exactly when I like a team. We didn't even know who was starting for the Rams at QB until like 5 mins before kickoff. Baker Mayfield was signed on Tuesday and could play and boy did he play. Baker! Now they were down 16-3 with 3 mins left so it was a crazy comeback as they got the win 17-16. Double win for me because someone had the Raiders in a knockout pool I'm in and was bounced from that loss.

Vikings +2.5

So I had the Lions penciled in early on in the week. How in the world could the Lions be favored by 2.5 over the 10-2 Vikings?? That's exactly why I was going to take the Lions, but I fell victim to the tempting line. I thought the Vikings were just the better team, had a better game coach and was still indoors even though it was on the road. Nope, Vegas knows best. It was a curious line for a reason. Lions rolled the Vikes for an 11-point victory. Could have been a 4-1 week as I learned the lesson I already know, don't switch to the other side right before the game. Should have went with my first thought. Dumb.

Bills -9.5

Grrr, I'm still aggravated over this finish. I took the Bills in my knockout pool and they won, but they were covered 20-7 late and then the Jets got a safety on a blocked freaking punt. Are you kidding me? That's how I'm lost this? Then the Jets drive down late and get 4th down but figured "hey we're down 2 scores so let's kick the FG now!" Yep, FG good and Bills no longer covering. Bad beat.

Ravens +2.5

I don't care who's playing QB for the Ravens. Steelers/Ravens, give me the underdog. It's usually a tight, FG kind of game when these two rivals get together and the Steelers had been playing a little too well as of late for me not to think that a letdown was coming. And yes Huntley was starting for the Ravens, but if you're a Steelers fan you know very well how much they've struggled with backup QBs over the years. Hell, Huntley went down and Anthony Brown was playing QB for the Ravens! Didn't matter because Pickett got a concussion and Mitch came in and was throwing awful picks. Ravens win and cover.

49ers -3.5

Easy money here. This was my favorite play of the week and they smashed Brady and the Bucs at home 35-7. I've said this weeks ago but the Bucs are broke. I'm not sure if it's Brady being old AF or the divorce or the fact that his oline is injured and shit or the coaching change in Tampa, but they're a mess. Jimmy G was out, did it matter for this 49ers roster? Brock Purdy rolled Brady as the 49ers cruised.

Was hoping for a 4-1 week, but it wasn't to be. Four weeks to go and getting to 62% or better doesn't look great but we'll keep grinding and maybe hit that undefeated week again.

Week 14: 3-2

Season: 34-32-4 (51.5%)
