Disasterville. You can't have these types of weeks in the Circa Million. Can't do it. Everything was looking good through the 1pm games until about 10-15 minutes during the fourth quarter of those games when it all took a turn. Let's get into the carnage. Here are my picks for Week 5:

Browns +2

Bucs -8.5

Commanders +1.5

Panthers +6.5

Chiefs -7

Browns +2

I had this one starred all week. Chargers, who are clearly good, just hasn't looked unstoppable yet this year. Going East, on the road into the dog pound and laying a couple points after covering as a road favorite the week before. I loved the spot. Add in that Nick Chubb is one of the best RBs in the game and the Chargers can't stop the run and it made this a slam dunk play. The Browns took an early 14-0 lead and was looking like an easy dub. Of course they blew it, made some questionable decisions late, went back and forth with the Chargers and then lost by 2 after the kicker they drafted missed the game-winning FG to push this game for me. If you're going to DRAFT a kicker, you better make sure he can hit those game-winning kicks for you! Little did I know this push would be my only positive of the week.

Bucs -8.5

The Bucs and divorced Brady were getting Godwin and Evans back this week. At home against the Falcons who covered every week this season. The line locked at -8.5 for Circa on Thursday and the line went to -10.5 on Sunday with Falcons announcing Pitts and Patterson were out (not that they use Pitts even when he's heatlhy!). I liked the Bucs to roll plus with the edge in the line, I was playing this game. Bucs ran out to a 21-0 and looked like no contest here. Well then they sat on the ball and did not nothing else. Falcons scored to make it 21-7 and then of course got the ball back and scored another meaningless TD with 4 minutes left...and then went for 2! Of course they did. And they got it to even screw the push over. Sickening. This should have been a win and the day was off and running bad.

Commanders +1.5

I know what you're thinking...the Commanders again? Really? Carson Wentz again? Yeah, I think it's time to officially stay off this team the rest of year. Bounce back angle. That's all this was. Commanders looked dead two weeks in a row now were coming home as a home dog. And the Titans aren't that good either. Commanders had two leads in this game, were looking like it was going to be a sweat but a win. Titans scored late third quarter to take the lead. Commanders had a whole quarter left, did nothing with it. Final drive, they have a 1st and goal from the 2. They just need two yards. TWO YARDS! What do they do? No run at all, incomplete pass, incomplete pass and Wentz intercepted with 9 seconds left. Awesome stuff. Also, can we fire ol' Riverboat gambler Ron already?

Panthers +6.5

I can feel you judging me. I know the Panthers suck, but this was another west coast team going east and a good situational spot with the Niners winning big in primetime in Week 4. Of course Baker Mayfield sucks ass with the most weapons he's ever had, throws a pick 6 and doesn't do much all game. This play was dead early. F the Panthers.

Chiefs -7

My last hope in Week 5 to try and salvage something. The Chiefs at home against the rudderless Raiders. Naturally, the Raiders fly out to a 14-0 lead. Chiefs rallied, took a 24-20 lead in the second half and looked like I may be okay here, but they scored late and instead of going up 8, they go for 2, don't get it and then the Raiders score anyway. They go for 2, don't get it either and Chiefs win by 1. Goofy shit in that one and I end up 0-4-1.

Like I said above, you just can't go 0-4-1 in the Circa. I got one point for the push, but that was it. First time this season I've slipped to .500 or just under it actually. I need to be better, but I'm not kicking myself too much considering if the Browns last second FG goes in and Washington gets two more yards that's wins and changes the outlook of the week completely. But that's how it goes in the National Football League and sometimes is a game of inches. I'm on to Week 6....

Week 5: 0-4-1
